TASK 4:Evaluate the adverts,Learning Outcome 3 (U20):Be able to produce the planned media components

 Billboard evaluation:


Logo:

The conventions for a billboard logo is that it needs to be bold and colourful as audiences need to be able to recognise it quickly if they're walking somewhere or if they're in the car passing by.I included the Carter soft drinks/Phizzwizard logo at the bottom left without too much surrounding it.Normally in a billboard the logo isn't the main convention that stands out just because promoting the product is more important.

 






Slogan:

I didn't want to include a slogan for the billboard advert as I wanted to the audience to focus more on the product rather than the writing.Billboards are typically placed in high traffic areas, such as along highways and in cities, so they're seen by the highest number of drivers and pedestrians.These people can't just stop and read the advert,so by having clear bold codes and conventions audiences are able to instantly recognise the advert without stopping and reading it.


Imagery:

I wanted the main image of the Phizzwizard can as the dominant code that the audience sees. This is because this is the main thing that's been advertised to the consumers.The can is clear and bold,and i put a white glow around it to make sure it really stands out.I also put a neon star in the top left corner that says 'NEW!' to emphasise to the audience that this is a new drink you have to try. 












Choice of content and typography:


I did a recurring colour scheme of pink and white throughout all my adverts because I wanted people to recognise the brand, and associate the colours with the brand. I also put bubbles in the background for my billboard as it adds another feature that stands out to the audience. The font and size of the wording of the advert wasn't that extravagant as the main purpose of the billboard was promoting the drink itself. 


Layout:

For the billboard I chose to have the can as the central and most prominent image.This is because I wanted the audience to focus on the product itself rather than being distracted by other features such as a slogan.This is the reaon why i had the social media and the logos along the bottom of the advert.The bright,neon star was the next thing you see on the advert after the Phizzwizzard can,indicating to the audience that this is a new drink you have to try.





                      Poster evaluation:


Logo

For the logos and social media i placed this at the bottom of the poster.Normally in posters,the most important features such as what the product is about is advertised at the top of the visual hierachy so the audience can notice these things first.However i did make sure that the logo was big enough at the bottom so that the consumer is able to notice.


Slogan

Posters normally have a catchy slogan that draws the audiecne in however I didn't use a slogan for my poster because i wanted this advert to focus more on what makes the Phizzwizzard drink unique and stand out rather than a catchphrase.This is becuase where the poster is being advertised,it's being shown in places where people wait for buses,taxis etc.The audience will have time to look and read the poster so this is why i have the four aspects that the client stated in the brief that summed up Phizzwizzard.I put the aspects in bold bubbles which helps grab the audiences attention in first.    


Imagery

The Phizzwizzard can is the central image of the poster,which is important when advertising on posters becuase then the audiencne knows what is being advertised towards them.I also put an equal amount of bubbles either side of the can to help give off this parallet direct address of the product to the audience.


Choice of content and typography 

As i mentioned previously,the colour scheme is the same throughout all the adverts because the audience needs to be able to recognise the brand etc.I also wanted the colours to match the drink and the logo so that it creates this aesthically pleasing look to the advert.The choicee of typohraphy that i went for is more fancy then the previous adverts because this choice of font was more eye-catching and more likely able to lead the audience in to read the words that are on the poster.


Layout

Most posters have a parallel layout as it's more aesthically pleasing to the audience.So this is what i took into consideration when making this poster for Phizzwizzard.The can is in the centre followed by the big bubbles which are placed either side and then the logo and social media advert along the bottom.The poster advert is more focused on the 30+ demographic target audience because this age bracket is more likely to see this advertising.

The brief from the client provided a guidance with regards to the kind of vision they were looking for.The brief gave detailed examples of what kinds of adverts they wanted me to produce too attract there two target audiences.With the combined information i was able to put advers together that envisioned this look of Phizzwizzard that the client was going for.

With the two target audiences,one being 13-18 year olds and one being 30+ year old I met this by having each of my adverts appealing to each of these audiences by the use of the codes and conventions that i placed in my marketing.I also appealed to these audiences by my desighns being bold and standing out,and giving of 'retro nostalgic vibes' for the 30+ year olds and then also putting in the social media aspect for the 13-18 year olds.The billboard is where i put more of a retro,nostalgic vibe to it,with the neon star etc.This is because the 30+ year olds are more likely to see this type of advert becuase billboards are shown in highways etc.The brief also states that the drink should only be sold in cans,which i took in as i advertised a can of Phizzwizzrd on my adverts.When people look at my marketing they can see what the drink will look like when they purchase it and if it's something that will be suited for them as part of the target audience.The brief also says how the drink tastes of strawberry laces and has natural flavourings and sweetenings in the drink.This is to portray that Phizziwzzard is a healthly alternative to a unhealthy fizzy drink,and I made sure that i put these features on my poster as i want the client to know these facts and see it's a unique drink that should be purchased.


The main colour pallete throughout all my adverts is red and pink.This is becuase the brief explains that the Phizzwizzrard drink is red in colour,so i wanted to corporate this into my adverts because it helps with the brand image in recogninsing Phizzwizzard.For both the poster and billboard i made sure that i used these colours to attract maximum impact from the audience and catch there immediate attention.It was also important for me to include a link to where people can go to too learn more about Phizzizzard,so this way repsonse to the product can be maximised on a variety of levels.I included this by putting @Phizzwizzard on each of the adverts and the most popular social media apps that most people are influenced beside the link.This was important to do in the campaign as it would create more awareness of Phizzwizzrd especially as social media is a perfect way to get news of a brand new product and have media coverage,it can also gain PR .It's also the most effective in attracting that 13-18 target audience.

The other components that i had to  include was the logo of the product.I ensured I  kept this consistent in all my adverts in order to create recognition and awareness of the fizzy drink.Reptition of the logos which more likely make the audience purchase the product.The image of the red strawberry with Phizzwizzard on it emphasises that strawberry lace flavour that draws back on the idea of nostalgia.It is important that i made sure the logo is noticeabale because this is what the consumer will see on the can as well as recognising the brand after if PhIizzwizzard has a good reputation.Having the Phizzwizzard logo matching to the whole concept of Phizzwizzard can help entice more people in.

Adittionally,i also had to add on the Carter soft drinks label.The brief states that Carter Soft Drinks is the company behind Phizzwizzard so it's important that they are mentioned on the adverts.Also,by having the company on the marketing allows more awareness and more informattion about the drink to the consumers.This could then allow the audience to go on to Carter Soft Drinks platforms and see more about what other products they have made etc.

 Even though both of my adverts are print based,billboard and posters can appeal to a much broader range of ages rather then being restricted to one target audience.Also,by the use of me including social media as well on both of my adverts helps me even more of Phizzwizzard appealing to a range of audiences.

Overall,i have listened to the client brief and have included codes and conventions of what they have stated to create high quality adverts that are able to attract the target audiences.
